My Year In Review

Hello, dear readers! As 2023 has ended and we start the new year, I wanted to share with you some of the highlights and challenges of my writing journey in 2023. It has been a busy and productive year for me, as I published three books and almost completed the first book in my new series. Here are some of the details:

Three Books Published

I’m happy to announce that I published three books in 2023, all part of my popular Moonflower Mysteries Series. The series follows the adventures of Samantha Reitenbach, a nonmagical witch who constantly finds herself wrapped up in a murder investigation while raising her teenage witch daughter and running her bakery and catering company. With the help of her family and the handsome vampire sheriff, Samantha solves murders and mysteries in her small town.

The three books I published this year are:

  • Inheritance, Incantations & Investigation (Book #4): Lethal secrets unravel… when Samantha, a nonmagical witch, caters a gala to reveal the next werewolf alpha. Her night of romance turns into a nightmare when she finds her great-aunt over a dead body, and someone she loves is kidnapped. With time running out, Samantha must solve the murder and rescue the victim before her world falls apart.
  • Competition, Cauldrons & Conspiracy (Book #5): Competition turns murderous when Samantha, a non-magical witch and potion judge, faces a series of deadly sabotages revolving around a potion competition. As she investigates the mysterious deaths and illnesses that plague the event, she uncovers a dark web of lies, secrets, and revenge that threatens to destroy the potion competition.
  • Halloween, Hexes & Handcuffs (Book #6): A hex of a Halloween awaits when Samantha, a non-magical witch, and Brandon, her vampire boyfriend and sheriff, face a hacker and a body found on a ride at the Moonflower Halloween Festival. As they unravel the mystery, they discover a web of secrets and lies that could shatter their lives.

I want to thank all of you who have read and reviewed my books, and supported me throughout this year. Your feedback and encouragement mean a lot to me, and I hope you enjoyed reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

New Series in the Works

I’m also excited to tell you that I have started working on a new series, which will be a spin-off of the Moonflower Mystery Series. The new series will feature Grissel Wells, a vampire agent who works for the Paranormal Council hunting magical objects in the paranormal world, with the ability to communicate with ghosts. You may remember her from my fourth book, Inheritance, Incantations & Investigations.

The first book in the new series will be called Up In Fangs. It will follow Grissel as she and the team she works with deal with recovering a magical object, causing numerous odd incidents that appear to have no cause.

I’m aiming to release the book at the end of February. I will update you on my progress and share some sneak peeks soon.

My Goals for the Upcoming Year

As a writer, I always strive to improve my craft and challenge myself with new projects. That’s why I have set some ambitious goals for myself in 2024.

One of them is to create some of my own book covers, using the skills I learned from some online courses. I think this will give me more creative control and flexibility over my branding and marketing. Below, you will find my first cover for the upcoming first release in the Grissel Wells Paranormal Cozy Mysteries, scheduled to come out at the end of February.

In addition to this new series, I will also continue writing the Moonflower Mysteries Series, which has been a huge success thanks to your support. The second box set, containing books 4 to 6, will be out on January 26th.

My goal is to release five books this year, the upcoming release of Moonflower Mysteries Box Set 2 and two for each series, while keeping you entertained and engaged with my stories. I hope you will join me on this journey and enjoy the ride. Thank you for being part of my writing community. You are the best!
